I have been eyeballing these lights, but I dont think I can bring myself to pay that kind of cheddar for lights. The 2 lights that I put on that bumper are $25 Amazon specials.

This morning, I did something I havent done in a long, long time. I washed and polished the FJ. I used Nu finish for polish. I really like it because it is extremely easy to apply and remove. My FJ hasnt shined like this since I bought it.

Back brakes were down to a mm or so and I've got some big trips coming up, not the least of which is the Mojave Rd. :banana-guitar:
I decided to do a bit of an upgrade, especially since I tow with it. On the front i will probably do a big brake kit of some sort in the future. In the mean time, here's the back

The PowerStop kit i got seems pretty nice. It came with all new hardware, including the rubber seals.

I also changed the oil. When doing that I noticed my battery is looking pretty crappy, like its been leaking or something. I've decided to upgrade to an Odyessy AGM battery, so I need to order one of those. Once I get that in the FJ should be all ready for some Fall adventures!

I got a couple odds and ends done on the FJ. First, I installed a new Odyssey AGM battery, group 34R. The old battery had been leaking and was making me nervous, especially since we're headed to Tucson in a couple days.

Here's the old one

And new

The Group 34R batteries are shorter than the stock FJ battery. On the description, it said this battery came with an adapter... but of course it didn't
Easy enough to solve, I just cut a couple 3/4" long sections of tube I had laying around to compensate. Easy!

I also finally added a mount for my CB to my dash. It had been driving me crazy for years now that the only place I had to put it was one of the cupholders, and every time I did it would change the squelch or volume (had to put it in the cup holder with the top, where the knobs are, facing down). Anyway, i added the button to the CB mic and mount to my dash. Quick and easy job, I know, but its going to make me feel so much better

My son and I also washed it... that's twice in a month or so, the world must be coming to an end!
